Google searches can sometimes be very private and you don’t want everyone to be able to track what you’ve looked at. Google is now accommodating its users and automatically deletes your location, YouTube and web & app history. As a registered Google user, you can even have your data automatically deleted after 3 months. We will show you how you can delete individual search queries or your entire history on Google and how to activate automatic deletion.

Turn off Google search history

There are several ways you can turn off your search history completely. The easiest way to do this is to disable history creation directly in Google Account settings. The only disadvantage: you have to be permanently logged into your Google account so that the search queries are not saved. Go to Google Activity Settings and click “” under “gkWeb & App Activity“. Disable“. Now your Google searches will no longer be saved.

With just a few clicks you can prevent Google from recording your further searches.

If you use your browser’s incognito mode, your search queries will not be saved. You can also log out of your Google account before doing a search. If you are not logged in or do not have a Google account, you will need to clear your browser’s history. 1. Step:

Open google.de and log in to your Google account. Then click in the Google search box. Your last three searches are now displayed here. Click on “Remove” on the right to delete individual entries.

2. Step:

If you want to clear your entire Google history, go to Google’s Activity Settings page . Here, select “Manage all web & app activity“.

3. Step:

Now click on “Delete activities by” in the menu on the left.

4. Step:

Now click on “Total time“.

5. Step:

Google will ask you if you want to delete the following activities. Click Delete. This will clean up your overall search history.

Clear Google History on iPhone

1. Step:

Visit the Google website and log in. Then tap the menu icon (☰) in the top left.

2. Step:

Tap on “Settings“.

3. Step:

You are now in the search settings. Select Manage to the right of Search History.

4. Step:

You will now see the “My Activities” page. If this is your first visit, Google will give you a little introduction. By clicking “Next” you can complete it.

Step 5:

Then tap on the three dots.

Step 6:

Then press “Delete activities after“.

Step 7:

The display under “Delete by date” probably reads “Today“.

Step 8:

Tap the display and change it to “Total so far” This will clean up your entire Google search history.

Step 9:

Finally, select “Delete” and confirm this again in the window .Your search history is now cleared and will no longer be visible.

Clear Google history on Android phones

On Android devices, Google does not necessarily have to be opened in the browser, you can also use g Simply use the Google app. Follow our Step-by-Step Guide or watch the Quick Guide.

1. Step:

Open the Google app and go to the three dots symbol for “More” in the lower right corner.

2. Step:

Then tap “Search Activity“.

3. Step:

Now go to the three-line symbol in the top left.

4. Step:

Then tap on “Delete activities after“.

5. Step:

Depending on the period in which you want to delete searches, you can now tap on one of the options displayed. For a complete wipe, go to “All time“.

6. Step:

You can now exclude individual services from deletion by removing the tick. If you would like to delete the search history completely, leave all the check marks and tap on “Next“.

7. Step:

Finally, you will be asked again whether you really want to delete. Confirm with “Delete“.

New: Clear google history of the last 15 minutes

The Google app on iOS now offers the option of deleting only the last 15 minutes of the search history using a shortcut. The feature is not currently available for Android devices, but it should be available there soon.

1. Step:

Open the Home in the Google app. Tap your profile icon in the top right corner.

2. Step:

Tap Delete the last 15 minutes.

3. Step:

The search history of the last quarter of an hour will now be deleted from your Google account.

1. Step:

If you want to automatically delete your Google history, go to the Google Activity Settings page. Here you select “Delete automatically (off)“.

2. Step:

You now have the choice to have your activities older than 3 or 18 months automatically deleted. We choose the first option as an example. Then confirm with “Next“.

3. Step:

Google will then show you examples of activities that are older than 3 months and will therefore be deleted. Continue with “Confirm“.

4. Step:

By clicking on “OK” all your activities older than 3 or 18 months will be automatically deleted by Google.

Quick guide: Delete Google history on your computer

1. Visit the Google website and log in there /strong>.
2. Click in the search field and delete individual search queries using the “Remove” field to the right of the search term. For deletion ofall search history go to the Activity Settings page and at the bottom select “All Web & App Manage activities“.
