The time has come on September 24: The release of the iPhone 13 (Mini) and iPhone 13 Pro (Max) is just around the corner and that’s where it begins the first sales phase for pre-orders and first-time buyers. For many customers, however, the RRP is still too high.
The price comparison portal Idealo took a closer look at the price developments of the previous models and wrote a blog post< /span> possible periods in which the iPhone 13 series could become cheaper. When can a price drop be expected?

< p> According to Idealo, the price forecast is based on the smallest memory model in the respective model series. While this was still the 64 gigabyte version for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 11, this is now omitted for all iPhone 13 devices – here the smallest model is equipped with 128 gigabytes of memory. It is still unclear whether this upward shift will have an impact on the price development.

iPhone 13 (Mini): Up to 15 percent cheaper in early January?
With the standard model of the iPhone 13, Idealo is not assuming that the price will change much, at least this year. At the beginning of 2022, however, the first adjustments should start based on the previous models – around ten percent savings should then be possible, which could mean that the iPhone 13 could drop from 899 to a good 800 euros.
The situation is similar iPhone 13 mini. Here, too, the portal assumes that fluctuations will be minor at most in the first few months. The situation is different at the turn of the year – the forecast then expects a discount of up to 15 percent on the RRP, which would drop the iPhone 13 Mini from originally 799 euros to less than 700 euros.

iPhone 13 Pro (Max): Will the 1,000 euro mark fall?
According to Idealo, those interested in buying the iPhone 13 Pro will have to wait a little longer before the magic mark of 1,000 euros is undercut. Although a price drop of 10 percent is to be expected after four months, it could take at least six months before the smartphone is only in the three-digit range. In the case of the most expensive model, the iPhone 13 Pro Max, the prices remain in the range completely stable for the first few months. Any price reduction can only be expected after four months – but at least the largest in absolute terms. Up to 130 euros savings should then be possible compared to the RRP at the time of publication, two months later another 60 euros more. It will be almost a year before the Pro Max model can reach a three-digit price – but by then the first information about the iPhone 14 should already be available.
